Children’s
Classes (ages 6* - 16) All materials included.
Students are instructed in the art elements with an emphasis on individual
creativity and expression. Because I provide all the materials, students
have the opportunity to become aquainted with a wide variety of media
and technique. The selections below are the various areas the kids can
explore - no need to take a different class time.
Classes meet once a week for 1 1/2 hours and are offered in a continuing
4 week series.
* If your child is very young, please make sure they
can sit still during a 90 minute session as disruptive children will
be asked to leave.

Fine Arts - (Ages 6 - 8).
This is an extensive continuing art program for ages 6 to 8. Formal
instruction and basic elements of art are introduced, but emphasis is
on individual creativity and expression. Students are given the opportunity
to become aquainted with a wide variety of media and techniques in drawing,
painting, and sculpture.
Fine Arts - (Ages 9 - 12).
This is an extensive continuing art program for ages 9 - 12. Students
work to develop skills, positive attitudes and esthetic judgement, though
individuality continues to be stressed versus adherence to rigid principles.
Students may develop their skills in drawing, painting, and sculpture.
Class size is limited so each student receives individualized attention.
Fine Arts - (Ages 13 - 16).
This course is designed for the student interested in the further development
of their talent. Students may wish to specialize in a particular area
or explore different media for the purpose of developing a portfolio.
Comic Art - (Ages 9 -12)(Ages 13 -16).
Superheroes! Super Villans! In this continuous course students create
a comics page per 4 week session. Points covered are anatomy, page layout,
design, lettering and much more.
Cartoon Art - (Ages 9 -12)(Ages 13 - 16).A
continuous course for the student interested in developing talents for
pictorial humor. Multipanel and single panel formats are explored. Students
examine the techniques used by actual cartoonists and thereby, learn
to develope their own. This is a wonderful means of self-expression.
Science Fiction and Fantasy Art - (Ages
9 -12)(13 - 16). Enter another dimension! Travel to
other worlds! Students illustrate stories of their choosing using various
media. Questions explored are: Focus -Will the viewer understand instantly
what is being portrayed? Design - is the composition functional? Content
-Are the elements of the illustration recognizable from the stories?
