"The Tower, Civita Castellana", 12"x 20", oil, 2005, NFS

On our second day, we went to the area of the tufa mines. At this site, there was this strange
ruined tower with trees growing out of it. So, I tried to stick to my plan of working on this
for the morning and do something else in the afternoon. The painting of the tufa mine was
what I did that afternoon. This presented me with the problem of working with wet paint
and trying to solve the situation of adding too much detail at a sitting. I don't really like this one
but to be accurate I am including it. I believe the tower just doesn't make it in my opinion.

This is what I went there for to learn to deal with the problems incurred in plein air painting.
