"The Abbey, Civita Castellana", 12"x 14", oil, 2005, NFS

This is an old church that is under renovation. Once again, the area had great views all around.
It seems as the week went on I just wanted to have buildings in my paintings, so I seemed
to always pick a view with a building. The other thing being it was an overcast day I didn't
have to worry about changing light so much so I stuck with it all day. I really do wish now that
I had keep up with two paintings a day but I just really wanted these buildings I guess. It was
wonderful to sit in the field and listen to all those bees working in the clover. A sound I will
always associate with this time in Italy.
