In this town, Civita Castellana, their main business at one time was mining this volcanic rock called tufa.
This rock in everywhere! This particular day we were at a spot which overlooked one of these areas where
they mined tufa at one time. I painted this in the afternoon which for me was a miracle...
I didn't know I had this in me to paint quickly!!! It is interesting to me how my brush strokes
took care of a lot of the symbolization in the painting and loosened up the way I painted.
